ICE Presidential visit - Historical engineering projects, Dublin

About this event

There has been a harbour at Dún Laoghaire, then called Dunleary, since medieval times, though this would have been used only by small fishing boats. In later years, from at least as early as the 17th century, some passenger boats called in at the harbour to avoid the difficulties of accessing Dublin port. But by 1817, a major construction project that would result in the Dun Laoghaire Harbour we know today was initiated.

To celebrate the 200th year anniversary of ICE, the ICE Republic of Ireland Local Association is hosting a number of presentations highlighting our engineering heritage. The ICE President, Professor Lord Robert Mair, will be a guest of honour.

The morning will conclude with lunch in the Royal St George Yacht Club, with teas and coffees being served mid-morning. Lunch, at own cost, will be available in the Royal St George, with confirmed numbers influencing the choice of menu. Booking for lunch is required.

Please RSVP to cormac.bradley@rpsgroup.com by close of business on Friday 9 February 2018.

Note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
