Membership Development Officer, Institution of Civil Engineers
Malcolm has 15 years' experience in the construction industry. He has practical and technical skills in design, project management in a wide variety of civil engineering fields including building, civil, highway, rail and marine engineering projects. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He has made presentations on many occasions and developed and run a variety of courses associated with the initial professional development of civil engineers and technicians for individuals, groups, trainees and mentors.
He regularly carries out Reviews at all levels. Malcolm's early career was with Amey Construction before he moved into a fulltime consultancy role in 2003 to TonyGee and Partners. He spent 10 years working at TonyGee, during this period he worked on a variety of engineering challenges including establishing a new international office in the United Arab Emirates. He returned to the UK in 2011 and specialising in the design and delivery of complex international marine engineering projects. He joined the Institution of Civil Engineers in March 2013 working in the London & South East region as a Membership Development Officer.
Malcolm has a particular passion for reaching out to the experienced engineers and technicians in the industry and supporting them achieve the recognition they deserve. He was instrumental in establishing a new approach to the recognition of mature civil engineers via the career appraisal route which is now used nationally by the ICE.
