Key themes and plans for the ICE 200th Anniversary

Sarah Jones

Sarah's theme for her year as Chair is PEOPLE & MENTORING, the most precious resource in our industry. The nuclear industry in the UK is facing a particular shortfall, with a large portion of experienced technical people retiring in the next 10 years. Therefore, we all have a duty to pass on our knowledge to others to ensure our profession remains at the forefront.

Mentoring is an excellent way of passing on valuable knowledge, both experience and governance, to young engineers starting out on their career paths, but also to women and men returning to the profession as well as ex-services staff. We also face a new challenge from younger people to keep our processes and use of technology up to date.

- Sarah says "I am lucky enough to be Chair for the ICE 200th year. This is a CELEBRATION and is meant to be enjoyable for all. I will outline the plans for next year and how you can get involved."

A hot buffet will be served in the refectory at 8.00pm
