About this event

The ICE West Midlands Annual General Meeting (AGM) is where current Chair, Yvonne Aust, will officially hand over to the new 2018-19 Chair, Malcolm Corlett.

The event is open to all ICE Members and gives you a chance to hear the outgoing Chair's review and the Treasurer's report.

Election for new committee members will take place. If you would like to put yourself forward to be a committee member please send an email to ice.westmidlands@ice.org.uk

Vacancies within committees in the West Midlands region are:

  • 19:00 – 20:30 Speakers - Martin Hobbs, Asset Delivery National Rollout Director, Highways England and Paul Cockell, Programme Leader for Major Projects in the Midlands

Martin Hobbs, Asset Delivery National Rollout Director and Paul Cockell, Programme Leader for Major Projects in the Midlands will be speaking about the roll out of Highway England’s new ‘Asset Delivery Model’ which is helping to improve the maintenance and operations of England’s motorways and major A roads by directly managing both the maintenance, and delivery of capital renewal and improvement schemes.

Speakers

Martin Hobbs

Martin is the Asset Delivery National Rollout Director within Operations and has been working in Highways England and its predecessors for 28 years.

Martin is a Chartered Civil Engineer and has managed major road projects, highway maintenance works and privately financed contracts as well as leading national policy, research and delivery of winter service, network resilience and crisis management. He led the development of the asset delivery approach and now leads the national rollout and further evolution.

Paul Cockell

Paul Cockell is a Programme Leader for Major Projects in the Midlands. He has been working for Highways England, in its various forms, for 18 years and prior to that local authorities for 19 years. Paul is a Chartered Civil Engineer and has designed and delivered highway projects from new build to asset renewals. He was involved in developing the use of the MAC and ASC contracts across the midlands. Paul developed the operating model for Asset Delivery. He developed and delivered the first suite of Asset Delivery contracts and established the collaboration model.
