IESF Lecture and Dinner, London

About this event

The History of Ventilation from Iron Lung to Mobility Ventilators

We plan to hold our first post-lockdown IESF Lecture and Dinner on Wednesday 20 October 2021 at the Army & Navy Club.

Mechanical ventilation of patients has a long history leading to present day life-saving therapy of patients under intensive care or undergoing surgery. It has taken on special significance during the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr Davies will talk about the history of ventilation leading on to a particular focus on his area of interest, non-invasive ventilation and the weaning of patients from prolonged mechanical ventilation.

We also ask that everyone does a lateral flow test before leaving home on the day of the
event. Test kits are available free from chemists, libraries and online. More information can
be found at https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests.
