About this event

Our working practises are in a state of constant evolution both relating to the tools we use through to the markets we operate. Coupled with global economic, digital and environmental shifts the relationship between how we practice engineering and macro influences is going to be far more closely linked. This complexity is at the heart of the emerging 4th Industrial Revolution.

Jonathan Riggall, Director at Peter Brett Associates LLP now part of Stantec, will be presenting the opportunities that 4th Industrial Revolution will create for the engineering profession and look at the current mega trends that will be coming through the UK’s industrial strategy that will affect development in the next 20 years. The talk will cover the role of:

  • Physical – robotics, materials, construction methods (international supply chain), transport
  • Biological – food, neurotechnology, designer beings
  • Digital – Artificial intelligence, data management, automation (link to cars etc)
