Innovate! New Technology and the Built Environment, in association with Bechtel – Lecture 2: Design and Construction, London

About this event

The UK construction industry is has seen significant change over the past decade from the deployment of innovative digital technologies. These technologies can make our infrastructure more efficient and give us a previously unheard of level of insight into the behaviour of systems and structures.

What innovative new technologies can we expect to see in the future? How will the structures around us change? In what ways will this affect our habits and the way we interact with the world around us?

Bechtel

ICE London's new lecture series in association with Bechtel, Innovate! New Technology and the Built Environment will explore these questions through three evening lectures. The Innovate! series will showcase current best practice in the industry and examine how innovations taking place in other industries could be applied to construction.

Lecture 2 will examine innovative design and construction methods, such as BIM and data capture. The lecture will also look at the use of structured and unstructured data and what skills are required to harness new technologies.
