About this event

In 2015 ICE President David Balmforth's tasked his Apprentices to discover more about the state of innovation within the construction industry and how it could be improved.

In this talk, ICE Presidents Apprentice Philippa Jefferis will share their key findings on:

  • Blockers to innovation in the construction industry.
  • How we can enable, systematise, and foster a culture around innovation.
  • Steps we can all take to help transform the UK engineering and construction industry to create better value and meet the UK's infrastructure needs.

The talk will draw heavily on the Apprentice's final report – Innovation: Stepping Up The Industry

The talk will finish with Taylor Woodrow Engineers Nerissa Patel and Callum Hughes providing real examples of innovation selected from the recent VINCI Innovations Awards.
