About this event

This presentation will highlight the reasons for the limited geothermal development in the UK to date, detail the innovative technology that Arup and Geothermal Engineering Ltd have developed and discuss the three exciting and pioneering geothermal projects that will be drilled and installed in the UK in 2018.

The audience will gain an understanding of the reasons for the limited development in deep geothermal energy in the UK to date and will gain an insight into a number of exciting and pioneering geothermal projects planned for this the UK in 2018.

Speakers

Mike Collins, Arup

Mike is the Applied Geology Skills Leader in the UKMEA for Arup and is Scottish Projects Manager for the Arup and Geothermal Engineering Ltd Joint Venture company 'Geon Energy Ltd'. He is the Project Manager of the Kilmarnock Halo Deep Geothermal Single Well project which will be the first deep geothermal low carbon district heat network to be delivered in Scotland.
