Stuart Rogers, National Schools Outreach Executive ICE, will draw on his experience in science communication and in delivering the official STEM learning induction process. You will learn a few crucial ‘dos and don’ts’ when giving a presentation to a non/semi-technical audience, and how to get the best results from your efforts.
The presentation is relevant to both experienced STEM ambassadors and also to people across the industry who would like to spread the word about Civil Engineering and are keen to deliver their first session.

National Schools Outreach Executive, ICE Education & Inspiration department
After obtaining my honours degree in marine biology, I started a career in science communication and worked in various science centres, museums and educational organisations across the UK. During this time, I build up a solid understanding of how to communicate technical content to a non-technical audience and have run various training workshops for scientists and engineers. I have also taught and marked part of a science communication masters course at the University of St. Andrews.
