International conference on health and safety in the construction industry

About this event

This year's conference has a strong focus on safety in design/ prevention through design, bringing together the brightest and most up-to-date thinkers researching and practicing in this field. It is our intention that this conference is a meeting of minds where industry and academia engage in conversation on mutual needs and expectations while creating meaningful and lasting connections.

Presenters and delegates will be coming in from all parts of the world (USA, South Africa, Asia (including Singapore, Indonesia, China, and various parts of Europe are already confirmed). Our three Keynote Speakers are all well renowned in their field, representing workers, businesses and the International Labour Organisation.

The conference will comprise of presentations on current safety and health research projects, workshops where academia meets industry and networking/collaboration sessions where individuals and groups can connect on specific needs and projects. The prospect of connecting with world-renowned experts and letting them know what you need from research and knowledge transfer is a unique aspect of Ulster University's offering.

ICE believes this would be an excellent opportunity for you to contribute to the international discussions and bring a wider perspective to the debate. Some of the questions up for discussion include:

  • How well do education, training, and professional development prepare design professionals in the provision of inherently safe(r) designs?
  • How can the research into safety and health deliver improvements in workers' conditions and their quality of life?
  • What are the opportunities for creativity and innovation in the delivery of safe design?

Full conference tickets are available, or alternatively, you can attend on individual days.
