The world of agriculture faces a multitude of challenges as the Global population and food demand grow, the rural workforce migrates to cities for better pay, and the sector vies with municipality, industry, and the environment for use of the limited resource: water. This presentation will give a broad insight into irrigation, exploring its history, global practice, and the discussions currently dividing experts around the world.

David Vanneck

David Vanneck is a civil engineer designing waste water infrastructure solutions for Anglian Water. His interest in irrigation has seen him participating actively in the Irrigation and Water Forum (IWF) since and 2015.

In November 2016 he attended the Second Water and Irrigation Forum (2WIF) in Thailand as a young professional sponsored by the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID). He is a member of ICE working towards his full chartership.
