About this event

Islandmagee Storage Limited (IMSL) plans to create seven caverns, capable of storing up to a total of 500 million cubic metres of gas in Permian salt beds almost a mile beneath Larne Lough, County Antrim.

The company was granted planning permission for the above-ground facilities for a natural gas storage facility at Islandmagee in October 2012 and in 2015 successfully completed a borehole to confirm the thickness of salt at the site.

Andrew Hindle, CEO of IMSL, and his colleagues, will describe the geological context and geotechnical challenges of the project.

Please note that the poster competition will no longer be part of this event. It will be rescheduled for a different date.
