Please note that this webinar will be held from 18:30 – 20:00 HK time

The webinar will introduce the fundamentals of SDGs as advocated by the United Nations and how engineers could contribute to the United Nation’s 17 SDGs while doing their social, environmental, and governance planning for their projects, focusing in particular on SDG5 Gender Equality, SDG8 Good Jobs and Economic Growth, and SDG10 Reduced Inequalities.

Speakers

Ir Samantha Kong was recognized by North America Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) as one of the 30 top young changer-makers (under the age of 30) in environmental education around the world. She was previously awarded by the HKSAR Home Affairs Bureau as Hong Kong Top 10 Outstanding Youth.

Samantha is now serving as an advisory panel on several government boards and committees, to advise strategies in promoting youth development and environmental education programmes in Hong Kong. In December 2018, she has been selected as the youngest member to serve on the Advisory Council on the Environment, the highest advisory body to the Government on environmental matters. Her goal in life is to promote positive change in the world through education and learning. She also founded a social enterprise, Eldpathy Hong Kong in 2013, to promote empathy for the elderly in Hong Kong.
