A site visit to Lausanne Vidy Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) will take place on Saturday 2 June in Lausanne, from 10:00 to 12:00.
Mr. Alain Piguet, water treatment specialist at BG and project manager in the CREAL consortium, will lead us in a guided tour and presentation of the WWTW upgrade project which is currently underway.
Construction is currently underway at the plant to upgrade it to current standards and the present population of the greater Lausanne area (capacity of 400,000 p.e.), including advanced treatment of micro-pollutants, while keeping the existing installations in operation and minimising disruption. The technical and logistical challenges of this project are considerable and I'm convinced the visit will be fascinating!
