About this event

Charter Square in Sheffield is being transformed from a complex dated pedestrian subway and roundabout to a simplified ground level highway with high quality public realm and cycle facilities. This is a complex urban design project which includes interfaces with a number of different projects surrounding the site.

The project incorporates highway, drainage, utility works, public realm and structural designs. The client is Sheffield City Council and the project managers are Turner and Townsend. The Designers are Arup and the Contractors Eurovia.

BAM Construction will join us for the final part of the lecture series and are completing a follow on building project in the area and will give us an overview of their works and the challenges of the interfaces between the two projects.

The site visit will be joint between Eurovia and BAM and will offer the opportunity to see both a highway and earthworks site.
