The legal status of advice given by engineers in emergencies, webinar

About this event

Join us for a presentation on engineers’ liability when giving advice in an emergency.

High profile engineering failures have occurred across the world in recent times; Grenfell; Genoa and Miami are 3 prominent examples. The causes of these incidents are still being discussed but each incident created an emergency that needed immediate engineering expertise.

Using a fictitious dam collapse the panellists will explore the civil liability of the key people involved prior to and after an emergency situation.

The discussion will be on the nature of advice given by civil engineers in emergencies and aim to understand what your liability is.

The panel will be:

  • Patrick Waterhouse (construction adjudicator) – Chair
  • Andrew Singer QC (leading construction counsel)
  • Richard Coackley (former ICE President)

Please note this event is for ICE members only.

The joining link and instructions will be found in the booking confirmation email and a reminder will be sent on the day.
