About this event

The presentation is on the latest expansion of Lerwick harbour's facilities in a project costing a total of £16.5 million. The new jetty at Holmsgarth North will provide deeper berthing and more working area for the fishing fleet, while the outer arm of the L-shaped jetty will create a dock sheltering a planned new white fish market. The outer arm will also be suitable for berthing offshore industry vessels.

The two speakers are from Tulloch Developments Ltd who are the main contractors for the project. Tulloch Developments Ltd are a civil and marine engineering contractors from Shetland with over 40 years' experience in the industry.

Alister Tulloch

Alistair Tulloch and Scott Johnstone both work for Tulloch Developments Ltd who are largest civil and marine contractor in Shetland with over 40 years' experience. Tulloch Developments Ltd began as solely a building company and has developed into almost entirely marine orientated civil engineers. Over the past 20 years they have constructed many piers, marinas, jetties, dredging and maintenance contracts, mainly in Shetland.

Alistair has worked with Tulloch Developments for 35 years starting out as a Site Agent in 1981. He has worked as part of the management team assisting in the winning of contracts, procurement, site management and successful completion of contracts.

Scott Johnstone

Scott Johnstone joined the construction industry in 2003 as an apprentice engineer working on a variety of civil engineering projects in Shetland. He began working with Tulloch Developments in 2010 and is currently the site manager for the Holmsguard North Quay Development.
