About this event

Flooding can't be prevented entirely but, by managing flood risk in a sustainable and co-ordinated way, we can reduce its impact on our communities and environment.

The Flood Risk Management Act (2009) introduced a new approach to how we tackle flooding in Scotland by considering whole catchments, all natural types of flooding and supporting close partnership working by the organisations that have a responsibility for flood risk management. For the first time in Scotland, co-ordinated plans are being developed to target effort and share resources in the areas where we can realise the greatest benefit.

Walter Scott of Angus Council will provide us with details on how we are complying with this act at a regional level.

Refreshments from 5.45 pm for a 6.15pm start.
