The Queensferry Crossing, due to open in 2017, forms the centrepiece of a major upgrade to the cross-Forth transport corridor in the east of Scotland, representing a total Scottish Government investment of £1.35 to £1.4 billion.
The 1.7 miles (2.7km) structure will be the longest three-tower, cable-stayed bridge in the world and also by far the largest to feature cables which cross mid-span. The innovative design provides extra strength and stiffness, allowing the towers and the deck to be more slender and elegant.

Damian's presentation will focus specifically upon the foundation works required to support the elegant world class superstructure. The bridge comprises 6 piers and 3 towers that had to be constructed in the challenging marine environment, with varying geology and water depth, using modern technology and equipment to ensure accuracy and safety.
