Luton Direct Air Rail Transit (DART) project, St Albans

About this event

In this presentation we will take you on the same journey the eventual passengers of the Luton DART will follow whilst showing the complex challenges the team have and are currently facing.

Due to the varying landscape of the site the railway will start off adjacent to the current Luton Parkway National Rail Station, travel across a seven-pier viaduct and over the A1081 Airport Way on a steel girder bridge.

It then runs at ground level adjacent to the main runway before entering a cut and cover tunnel underneath taxiway bravo, finally arriving into Central Station where passengers disembark to the terminal.

We will also cover the great work being done to implement BIM level 2 on the project whilst digitising quality and H&S paperwork that will improve record keeping and compliance.
