About this event

Since April 2016 Building Information Modelling (BIM) has been mandated (to maturity level 2) on all centrally procured HM Government projects and is seen as the future in helping boost delivery, reduce cost, improve value, lower carbon footprint and improve collaboration across the supply chain. 20 years ago, Mark Eaden presented a paper for a ‘Manifesto for a Model Railway’. This manifesto was Mark’s vision for BIM in the railways, before BIM exists as we know it now.

The evening will begin with Mark revisiting his vision for BIM as it looked in 1998/1999 and look into the areas in which the railways are succeeding and where it could be doing better. This will then be followed by an interactive session with the group developing a Manifesto for a Model Railway 2.0.
