Aidan Foley, Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII)
Aidan Foley joined TII (the RPA) in 2009 from the Private Sector where he worked in a variety of senior roles in construction, working on major roads projects in the UK and Ireland. Since joining TII, he has held a number of senior project management and leadership positions.
Aidan was appointed MetroLink Project Director for Transport Infrastructure Ireland in 2015. He is a graduate of Bolton Street College of Technology (Now Dublin City University) and a Chartered Engineer. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Smurfit Business School.
Peter Bennett, Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII)
Peter Bennett joined The Railway procurement Agency (one of the predecessor organisations merged to found TII) in 2008 as a Systems Engineer, assisting in the delivery and commission of a series of extensions to Dublin’s Light Rail system.
Subsequently, Peter has worked in the private sector on international light rail projects acting as Interface Manager, and re-joined TII in 2015 for the latest light rail extension, being appointed MetroLink Design Coordinator in 2016. He is a graduate of Strathclyde University in Glasgow.
Steven Burgess, Turner & Townsend
Steven Burgess is a Director in Contract Services with Turner & Townsend. He joined the MetroLink team as Coordinator of Major Contracts in January 2020. After 20 years in private sector consultancy, Steven joined the National Development Finance Agency in 2007 as Head of Project Management with responsibility for procuring and delivering a public investment programme of over €1.6 billion.
Most recently, he has been a senior advisor with the European Investment Bank, providing strategic advice to public authorities on PPPs and infrastructure delivery. A graduate of Imperial College, London and a Chartered Engineer, Steven is a Member of both Engineers Ireland and the Institution of Civil Engineers.
