About this event

The BGA’s December Early Career Group event will focus on data and the ways in which poor communication of data can be a risk to a project.

The talk will provide guidance for geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists on ways this can be improved and in particular how data can be turned into information to support real time control of construction works in both formal and informal applications of observational engineering.

Risk and uncertainty in geotechnical engineering will be discussed and the talk will demonstrate how technology can aid effective analysis, response to unexpected movements in ground and structure and mitigate project risks.

The event is expected to be beneficial to both designers and constructors and will be followed by an opportunity for networking and drinks.
