Backed by the Government, modular buildings are offered as the magic bullet to push the construction industry into the 21st century.

During the presentation we will unravel the advantages promised by this building method and ask whether factory-built buildings deserve to lose their unfortunate reputation.

We will go back to 1066, the time of the first recorded modular buildings, then look at the various forms they have taken since, as well as looking at recent projects in the UK and overseas.

Then, we’ll briefly look at the health, safety and welfare implications, as well as potential cost/time savings (although no crass statistics), and importantly some basic design principles.

The event will finish with a glance at modular’s future – what’s next and how does offsite fit into the demands of the future?

If you have booked your place online, you will be sent an email a day or so before the event containing a link to join the webinar.

Please click on the link 15 minutes before the scheduled start time to check your AV equipment is working properly.

You will not need to click on the microphone icon, as all attendees are muted. There is a section for Questions and Answers - Q&A in the bottom right hand corner of the screen where you can type your questions to the presenter. Please do not use the Chat box.
