Graduates and Students: Technical visit to Ocean Park Tai Shue Wan Water World Project, Hong Kong

About this event

The Ocean Park Tai Shue Wan Water World Project aims to foster Ocean Park’s tourist-receiving capacity and uphold its competitiveness as one of the core attractions in Hong Kong. The Tai Shue Wan area will be developed into an indoor cum outdoor waterpark, which is also meant to revive the city’s tourism sector especially in the peak summer season.

The project adopts a distinctive design with a series of terraced platforms and wave pools facing South China Sea, which allows the Water World to be the first and only waterfront water park in South East Asia. The hilly terrain added difficulties to the construction of the park, from conducting site formation works to controlling the stability of the inclined main pool. In this technical visit, participants will be introduced to the complexity in the design and construction of the project, along with how the project team overcome them.
