About this event

Monitoring offshore structures can be a challenge. This presentation aims to cover the basics of instrumentation from what is practical from an installation point of view to what provides the analyst with sufficient data to understand the structural response and the balance between these. The topics covered will include: offshore oil and gas platforms, wind turbine jackets, subsea production and drilling riser and subsea pipelines.

James Mackenzie

James Mackenzie

James Mackenzie is Principal Engineer with 14 years' experience in the offshore industry working for Fugro GB Marine Ltd.

He graduated with a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Glasgow University. His current role involves designing offshore structural monitoring systems and analysing offshore structural responses.
