In this presentation, Lewis Banks, Principal Transport Planner, Peterborough City Council and Richard Jones, Principal Transport Planner, Peterborough Highway Services will introduce the recently developed City Centre Transport Vision for Peterborough.
The vision has been established to provide a bold and sustainable framework around which the city centre’s ambitious development aspirations can be planned. It aims to reduce car use, and the highway infrastructure associated with this, within the heart of Peterborough, and convert this space into urban realm and sustainable travel corridors. This will be achieved through the creation of multi-function transport hubs, established around the periphery of the city centre to intercept vehicle trips.
The presentation will walk delegates through the key themes of the vision, discuss some of the questions that further development work will need to answer, and explain the path to formally adopting the vision.
