Pines Hotel Cliff Stabilisation: Turning adversity into opportunity, Dorchester

About this event

Despite complex ground conditions, exceptionally difficult design issues and logistical challenges, cliff stabilisation works were successfully carried out in order to safeguard the future of The Pines Hotel.

These comprised soil nails, a reinforced sprayed concrete soil nailed wall, bored pile walls, trench drains, and sub-horizontal drilled drains. The project received the Ground Engineering Awards UK Project of the Year with a geotechnical value of between £1M and £3M for effective logistical problem solving and counterintuitive innovation.

Geoff Davis will be our guest speaker for this event.

On site parking is available (The Colliton Park car park, Dorchester) - £1 for two hours.
