About this event

Murdoch & William Patterson were responsible for the design & construction of the railway including the Findhorn Viaduct, Allt-na-Slanach timber viaduct and Culloden Moor or Clava Viaduct.

This event has been organised by the Scottish Panel for Historical Engineering Works.

Speaker

Anne-Mary Paterson is the great grand niece of brothers William and Murdoch Paterson, railway engineers who between them were responsible for the construction of much of the Highland Railway. She tells their story in her book Pioneers of the Highland Railway Tracks.
