What is the most creative way to explain civil engineering?
Pitch 200, the engineering competition with a difference, brings together civil engineers to answer that exciting question. See the region’s creativity come alive with engineers showcasing their work in the most curious and unconventional way at the ICE Yorkshire and Humber Pitch 200 – the first of three heats taking place in the region.
Look forward to a free, fun and informative evening while learning about the variety of roles a civil engineer plays in shaping the world as we know it around us.
The top entries from the three heats taking place in Hull, Leeds and Sheffield, will be selected by expert judges, competing to showcase their talent and creativity in a 200 second presentation using all sorts of props and methods. The audience will be encouraged to participate with Q&A sessions after each demonstration.
Following the heats, the best presenters will go on to compete in a regional final in York on 25 April 2018.
The regional winner will become the ICE Regional Ambassador for 2019 and will go on to represent ICE Yorkshire and Humber at the national final at ICE’s Headquarters in London.
Presentations will be followed by Q & A sessions where the audience is encouraged to participate.
All Pitch 200 events are open to the general public – you don’t need to be an engineer to attend!
