Proposals for two major river crossings in Suffolk, Ipswich

About this event

Suffolk County Council is proposing three new River Orwell crossings close to Ipswich town centre. A new road crossing to the south of the Wet Dock Island, a new road crossing of the New Cut (which would connect the west bank to the Wet Dock Island) and improved crossing over the Prince Philip Lock for cyclists and pedestrians.

The other multi million pound crossing is the Lake Lothing Third Crossing in Lowestoft. The crossing will follow a north-south alignment from a new roundabout on Denmark Road and span both the railway line and Lake Lothing.

Both bridges will help re-generate the areas around them and ease transport issues in their respective towns.
