Tea / Coffee / Sandwiches from 5.30pm. This event will be preceded at 6pm by a short presentation to members by Samantha Payne from the ICE Benevolent Fund.

The main presentation looks at complex problems arising from an integrated stadium design dealing with 90,000 spectators, temperatures in excess of 45 degrees, and a roof spanning over 300m present significant engineering challenges.

The presentation will look at the techniques and approaches developed for the engineering design.

Jim Burridge is a Director in ARUP's Newcastle office and is the firm's Global Sports Arena Leader.
