In 2018, Transport for Wales unveiled plans for a £5 billion investment to transform the Wales and Borders rail service and develop the South Wales Metro. The plans include an £800 million investment in innovative new trains, at least five new stations, more frequent services, electrification of much of the Valley Lines network, and creation of more than 600 new jobs. This forms one part of wider plans driving forward the Welsh Government’s vision of a high quality, safe, integrated, affordable and accessible transport network.
In this presentation, TfW’s Geoff Ogden will discuss the background of the not-for-profit company, its vision of a transport network of which Wales can be proud, and its plans to Keep Wales Moving.
Refreshments will be provided at 5.30 and the lecture will start at 6.00pm. There will be time for Q&As afterwards.
