Carlebeach Intermodal Station - Red Line and Green Line.
Carlebeach Intermodal Station - Red Line and Green Line.

About this event

Principal Structural Engineer Mark Palmer of Royal HaskoningDHV will give a brief resume of his experiences of working on The Red Line Metro Project in Israel for the last two years. He will be giving an insight to the overall masterplan of including a full transit infrastructure of multiple metro lines through the heart of Tel Aviv, the largest city in Israel.

Mark will report on his experiences as the Project Manager for the largest intermodal underground metro station 'Carlebach' on the Red Line. He will outline the methodology of construction of the outer box of the station, the complexities of placing an underground station in the centre of the busiest interchange and business areas and the experience of working in Israel.

Ground conditions at site offered their own interesting challenges partly due to the uniqueness of the underlying strata only found in Israel.

This is a joint event with IStructE.
