About this event

Civil Engineer Robert Hodgson will describe the time he spent as the Support Services director of the Save the Children Ebola Treatment Centre in Kerrytown, Sierra Leone.

The talk will cover the management of non-clinical activities in the centre, including water supply, drainage, waste management and removal of deceased patients. It will also explain some of the challenges such as maintaining hygiene with limited access due to the need for full clinical protection.

It will also give an insight into some of the training RedR provided to UK-based relief workers including many of the NHS staff who took part in the response.
