About this event

Prof David Potts of Imperial College, London, and Prof Guy Houlsby of the University of Oxford, both former Rankine Lecturers, will jointly chair this free half-day seminar as a preliminary to the main event of the evening.

Topics to be discussed by a panel of international speakers will include:

  • Recent developments in suction foundation technology with emphasis on installation
  • The design of suction installed foundations
  • Offshore foundation monitoring – virtual reality or the real thing?
  • Design methods for offshore wind monopoles – industry perspective
  • PISA monopile design methodology: overview and numerical modelling
  • PISA monopile design methodology: field testing and recommendations
