About this event

Ambergate Service Reservoir plays an essential role in the water supply to hundreds of thousands of customers in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

It was first commissioned over 100 years ago and, having provided a reliable service during this time, is now nearing the end of its life in its current condition. A Joint Venture of NMC Nomenca (North Midland Construction) and Laing O'Rourke are undertaking an ambitious £43 million project to replace the existing to secure water supplies for the future and the next 100 years.

The presentation will cover the history of the original infrastructure, reasons for the project and some of the construction methods and challenges presented by carrying out this huge project in a quiet rural location.

Tony Heaney is a chartered member of the ICE with wide experience of construction within the water industry and Contracts Manager at NMC Nomenca.

This presentation will be preceded by the Nottingham, Derby and Leicester AGM.
