G&S Seminar on practising professional ethics – An effective defence against corruption, Hong Kong

About this event

Local construction industry involves substantial expenditure, multi-layer subcontracting as well as various procurement methods. Moreover, many Chinese festive customs involve offering presents and money as traditions. These features can be incentives for corruption, and it may be difficult for young members, who are new or about to join the industry, to determine where the border is.

ICE members are expected to remain ethical in their professional practice. Ethics serves as one of the nine attributes of the Chartered Professional Review (CPR), candidates who wish to take the CPR would benefit from gaining more insights during this seminar.

Are you confident when you need to deal with ethical dilemma in your professional career? Are you confident of taking responsibilities in an ethical manner?

Speaker from Hong Kong Business Ethics Development Centre, Independent Commission Against Corruption of Hong Kong (ICAC) will give a seminar on corruption prevention in the construction industry. Participants could understand more on the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance and relevant regulations as well as the importance of abiding by the law and development of an attitude of “zero tolerance to corruption”.

Seminar Outline:

  • Common corruption problems/corruption-prone areas in the industry
  • Consequences of corruption
  • Anti-corruption legislation and regulations
  • Managing staff integrity
  • ICAC services
