Site visit: EnviRecover energy-from-waste plant, Hartlebury

About this event

Worcestershire County Council and Herefordshire Council's flagship energy-from-waste facility, operated by Severn Waste Services, became fully operational as planned in March 2017. It was formally opened by HRH Duke of Gloucester in June 2017 and is the largest single piece of capital infrastructure in the region.

Almost 200,000 tonnes of residual household waste was converted into electricity at EnviRecover in its first 12 months of full operation. This has had a hugely positive impact on reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill from the two counties and this amount is now minimal. At the same time the plant generated enough electricity to power 32,000 homes – enough to power all of the homes in Kidderminster, Stourport on Severn and Bewdley combined.

Online booking essential - numbers are limited to 15 only.

PPE will be provided. Parking is limited so please car-share if possible.
