Now over half way through construction, the main elements of process plant are now in place, and the enveloping buildings are starting to take shape. Visitors will get a close up view of the process plant with a summary of how it all fits together and works, to safely manage 190,000 tonnes per year of waste, and using the energy to generate 14.5MW of electricity to the grid.
Full PPE will be provided but it would help if visitors could bring their own safety boots (not shoes, and no riggers). Please book on your preferred date of the two offered, as numbers are limited to 12 per evening.
Please note that there will be a lot of stairs to climb, and the stairs and upper floor levels are open grate/checker board, which some people have trouble with. We will meet at 6pm with tea, coffee, biscuits and start the tour as soon as all assembled/kitted up.
Online booking is essential so that UBB Security can sign you in at the gate; coming from M5 J12, take the B4008 past the entrance to Wyevale Garden Centre then take the 2nd exit off the roundabout.
