Upon the gradual completion of new residential housing developments, the population of Tseung Kwan O District will be increased gradually. The traffic demand in that region will therefore be increased. Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel (TKO-LTT) is needed to meet the traffic demand arising from the anticipated population growth.
Contract No. NE/2015/02, as part of the TKO-LTT project, includes reclamation of approximately three hectares at Junk Bay, construction of dual two-lane Road P2 of approximately 800m long, with approximately 200m of the depressed carriageway covered by landscape deck, and implementation of the associated building, civil, structural, marine, electrical and mechanical, landscaping and environmental protection and mitigation work.
When visiting TKO-LTT, participants will explore and identify the technologies applied in the works. The visit will also feature a marine site visit by boat, allowing participants to closely learn how the marine mud treatment helps mitigating the environmental impact during the work.
