Site visit: Wargrave sewage treatment works, Wargrave

About this event

Thames Water are currently in their AMP 6 period and have contracted with Costain through the Eight 2 0 Partnership to install new 1100 cubic metre Gas Holders and whilst this element of the works has been completed there are ongoing works involving upgrades to the Digester Gas Mixing system and replacement of gas compressors.

The programme for this visit is for an introductory talk about how the site operates and why Thames Water have invested in a new CHP engine and gas holder. This will be followed by a tour of the site, with Q&A as we talk. Sensible footwear is required, not full Construction site PPE.

Speaker: Andy Popple

Andy has recently been re-appointed to the Delivery Team as Head of Programme Management within Thames Water based in Reading. He was Regional Operations Manager when first contacted about this visit. He was previously a member of ICE Thames Valley Branch committee.

If you would like to join the group for a post tour lunch (or snack), this will be taken at the Horse & Groom pub at nearby Hare Hatch RG10 9SB. (Note this will be at your own cost). If you wish to be there, please advise anne.qualters@ice.org.uk once you’ve booked so we can advise the venue of numbers. We will require that information by 15 September, please.
