The next of ICE's flagship policy reports, State of the Nation 2014: Infrastructure, will be launched on the morning of 25 June 2014 and will available to watch live online. Speakers include Rt Hon. Lord Deighton KBE, Commerial Secretary to the Treasury; Rt Hon. Lord Adonis, Shadow Minister of State for Infrastructure; and Rt Hon. Lord Heseltine CH.
All political parties agree that investment in infrastructure should be a crucial strand of any economic strategy – it boosts growth, creates jobs, connects communities and raises living standards. With its release scheduled ahead of the UK General Election in 2015, State of the Nation Infrastructure will assess and grade each of the UK's key economic infrastructure sectors – energy, transport, flooding, water and waste – as well as referencing cross-cutting themes as we look at how Government and industry can work together to deliver effective infrastructure solutions for the future.
Evidence from over 150 individuals and organisations has informed the report – including UK Parliaments and Government departments, industry bodies, business groups, think tanks, academic institutions – which has been produced under the leadership of a cross-industry ICE Steering Group.
At the launch, Keith Clarke, ICE Vice President and Chair of the report Steering Group, will present the report's findings before senior Parliamentarians give their views.
