About this event

Stockley Flyover, a 117m long bridge weighing over 1,000 tonnes has been launched into position over the Great Western Main Line in west London. The bridge forms part of an additional flyover that is being built to avoid conflicting movements between Great Western services and Heathrow Express services.

Nigel Beavor of Jacobs, the Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) for Stockley Flyover, will be talking about the challenges encountered whilst designing the bridge and launching it into place over the most important Railway Main Line in the UK.

See the campus map for the location of the Thomas Telford Building (AA).

Refreshments at 18.00 for an 18.30 start.
