Structural safety: Case studies, London

About this event

Following the success of the first event in May, Structural-Safety are holding their second Case Studies event at the ICE on the 27 November. The event will begin with a presentation from Structural-Safety member Dr Allan Mann on Large Structures, where he will discuss how a lack of understanding of scale effects can lead to safety and commercial risks.

Three Young Members from the Institution of Civil Engineers and The Institution of Structural Engineers will then present a structural failure incident from a recent Structural-Safety report, providing insight into what caused the failure, the impact of actions taken, and what could have been done to manage or mitigate the risk. There will be opportunity after each case study for audience-wide discussion.
