About this event

This evening lecture is organised by ICE Wales Cymru and supported by CIWEM, IMarEST, CIOB and Cynnal Cymru.

Ton Fijen, Engineering Director, will present an overview of Tidal Lagoon Power's proposals for tidal lagoons in the UK, and in Wales in particular.

At present Tidal Lagoon Power is evaluating 5 lagoons in addition to Swansea, namely: Cardiff, Newport, Bridgwater, Colwyn Bay and West Cumbria.

The presentation will highlight some of the technical challenges, as well as some of the potential benefits for this fleet of lagoons, in terms of power generation, economic benefits and supply chain.

A quick update on Swansea tidal lagoon will also be provided.
