About this event

This presentation will present a series of case studies from projects across UK & NI, including:

  • University Ulster Campus, Belfast (Contractor: Lagan Somague JV) – protection of listed buildings & temporary works to enable RC Construction
  • Kingsgate School Development, London (Contractor: GRAHAM) – Construction of a CLT Timber Primary School & Basement immediately alongside Network Rail Electrified Lines
  • Brent Cross Bridge, London (Contractor: Carillion) – construction of a 7500 T road bridge with a clear 100m span across 13 Electrified Railway Lines over Christmas

Each case study will look at the following aspects:

Simon Lamont and Mark Cassidy

The presenters will be Simon Lamont (Associate, Design ID) & Mark Cassidy (Director, Cassidy Geotechnical). Mark & Simon are consultant engineers, with over 30 years' combined experience on the design of both permanent and temporary works solutions across a wide range of civil, structural and geotechnical engineering projects. Using this experience, they have developed close relationships with contractors to enable successful design & build temporary works projects, demonstrated across the case studies presented.
