The lecture will focus on how Internet of Things (IoT) innovations are making Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) easier, quicker and more reliable.
Five major pain points which have been identified in the NDT industry will be described. These are complex user interfaces, inefficient workflows, complicated data interpretation, incomplete traceability and obstructed data sharing. Next, the use of recent technologies, such as wireless connectivity and touch screens, to eliminate these pain points, will be discussed.
Ultrasonic testing and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) testing are two advanced methods for concrete imaging in 2D and 3D. At the end of the lecture, Proceq's 'Live' ultrasonic and GPR products will be used to demonstrate how IoT can make advanced imaging methods accessible to all. Proceq's 'Live' Schmidt hammer will also be demonstrated as an example of how IoT can be applied to a well-established 50-year old product, to facilitate data reporting.
