About this event

Nicknamed the ‘Cheesegrater’, the 225m tall Leadenhall Building is arguably the most spectacular of the new towers in the City Of London. With its distinctive perimeter megaframe and close integration of architecture and engineering, the building presented significant technical challenges to Arup, the structural designers.

This talk will cover Arup’s role from the building’s inception in 2001 through to completion in 2014, documenting the innovative structural design, the pioneering construction methods, the unprecedented levels of prefabrication, and the close collaborative working between all parties.
